Fashion Pakistan Week 2014 Day 1:

There is nothing in the Pakistani fashion industry that is less than the other fashion industries in the world and that this diligence cannot be compared to the international fashion scene. I have never ever underestimated our fashion because it is never the less as hip, glamorous and as happening as anywhere in the world. As I walked in the Marquee Hall of Pearl Continental Karachi, I was stunned and more was star struck at the grandeur and glamour of the place where an array of stars including designers, models and stylist and other personalities from the fashion fraternity were gathered under one roof. The red carpet is always a thing for these celebs to mingle around get them photo snapped by the photographers and shun our eyes with star beauty. To me that is THE MOMENT of the evening. Actress Mansha Pasha was hosting the red carpet moments and was interviewing the stars. HSY, Adnan Malik, Tapu Jaweri, Saba from SABS Salon, Rizwanullah, Humaima Malik and others were notably se…

Pantene Bridal Couture Week Day 3

The 1st on the list to begin the final day was the label ‘Kuki Concepts’ with the collection titled ‘Mah-e-Nau’ (the new moon) taking its inspiration from the moon. The opening Act comprised of short shirts, Cholis, Knee Length Ghagras & long coats. The scene on the ramp became quite confusing & the inspiration was not portrayed properly. The 3rd set after the fancy & Reds was White, which actually makes you realize the inspiration is Moon. But the last set also didn’t have any intriguing factor. The next showcasing was done by Uzma Baber. I actually liked her collection outline in the news letter. The collection was given the name, ‘Jhill Mill’. Simple, traditional yet trendy. Not much to say about, The Silhouette would be preferred by different classes, regions & cultures with in the country. …

The PBCW is done with its second day. The day started with Zainab Chottani, with her collection Rang o Raag. The collection takes its inspiration from the Mughal Era's. The Show started with HSY leading set 1. The set had male models in Black Kurtas, female models in long fairy tailed attires & HSY in black embroidered Sherwani. The show was followed by more attire having long tailed gowns, Shararas, heavy embroidered uppers & lowers, long Duppattas & Lehangas were creating a complete historic scene. The next was Erum Khan. Her collection was inspired by the Gulf & Arabian regions. Many colors with many types of prints were shown. Large sequined Plazzos, Velvet Lehangas & Saarees and an embroidered jumpsuit, really attracted me during the show. Hamza Abbassi walked the ramp for Erum. And the 'Mera Sultan' music during his walk just electrified the audience. It was followed by an amazing LED dance performance, which actually made you realize the t…
